7 Toddler-Friendly All-Inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean

When thinking about a relaxing family vacation with babies and toddlers in tow, it is usually the sun-drenched, laid-back and all-inclusive Caribbean resorts that spring to mind. However, not every all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean is toddler-friendly.

It certainly is challenging to find a resort for families with a 23-month or a three-year-old active kid. The many all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean may be advertised as family-friendly or kid-friendly. These are mainly catered to children ages four to 12. If you are seeking out new resorts to experience the Caribbean with your toddler, here are 7 outstanding toddler-friendly all-inclusive resorts:

1. Club Med Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is served by almost 40 airlines. There are direct flights from Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, New York City, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Charlotte to Punta Cana. It takes only three hours 16 minutes to fly from Charlotte to Punta Cana and four hours 26 minutes from Chicago.

Club Med Punta Cana has a Baby Club Med (for 4 to 23 months) and a Petit Club Med (for 2 to 3 years old). According to Club Med Punta Cana, the Baby Club Med is a place created specifically for children ages four months to 23 months. Activities include outdoor walks, nursery rhymes, motor skill techniques, music appreciation, meal times and nap times.

The Petit Club is for toddlers ages two and three. It is loaded with activities that even an active child will never be bored. Water games, walks, group games, indoor gym sessions, painting, music, and puppet shows are some of the organized programs available. Lunch and tea are provided. Kids have rest time and siesta between games and meals. Evening activities include songs, games, nursery rhymes, and shows.

2. Beaches at Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Beaches all-inclusive resorts have one of the best programs for toddlers. Their nannies are certified in accordance with an accredited American university. The nurseries are furnished with cribs, strollers, high chairs, rocking chairs, toys and everything needed for tiny tots’ comfort. The infant programs are catered to newborns to 24-month-olds.

Toddler programs are for kids ages three to five. Shell collecting, face painting, group play, toddler pools, treasure hunts, puppets, magic shows, sand castle building and costume time are some of the supervised activities at Beaches.

One important reminder: Kids must be potty-trained to participate in toddler programs.

Infant and toddler program hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. According to the resort, the hours may vary depending on the activities organized for parents, like an early scuba-diving trip would require an earlier program for the toddlers.

Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston is the closest airport to Ocho Rios. It takes three hours 39 minutes from New York and two hours and 52 minutes from Atlanta to Kingston.
